Located at 500 N Atlantic Blvd Ste 100, Monterey Park, CA 91754, Hong Kong Cafe 香港茶餐廳 operates as a hong kong cafe serving Monterey Park in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Google also lists it under cantonese restaurant, chinese restaurant, hong kong style fast food restaurant, which is worth knowing if you are comparing several options in the area.
In cities with a Chinatown, weekend mornings bring dim sum carts or order sheets, and lines form early at the most popular spots in Monterey Park; walk-ins are standard and reservations are uncommon outside large banquet restaurants. Regional labels matter: Cantonese, Sichuan, Hunan, Shanghainese and Taiwanese kitchens cook very differently, so a restaurant's stated region is a better guide to the food than the word "Chinese" alone. Some smaller restaurants in California are BYOB with no corkage fee; call ahead to confirm. A tip of 15-20% is customary for table service but not expected at counter-order takeout. Spice level, MSG and allergen questions are normal to ask before ordering, and most kitchens are happy to leave an ingredient out or tone down the heat if you mention it when ordering rather than after the food arrives.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 11 am–2 am. First time visiting this HKG cafe/restaurant, highly recommend for its HKG style food with plenty of options, quality service, and atmosphere - 平靚正 from drinks to food. First bite of the food took me back to HKG and brought back memories of eating with my family. Food portion is big for very reasonable price. Staff is efficient, friendly, and attentive (unlike some places I know in Vegas). They speak Cantonese, Chinese, and English. They are busy but it doesn't affect how they treat customers. They don't rush you for leaving either even when they have a waiting line. Nothing beats the HKG city decor with Cantonese music in the background while you enjoy authentic HKG food. Use the kiosk to get on the waitlist on the left once you enter. 5-10mins wait time for a Sunday lunch. Quality HKG cafe with lots of HKG people, will be bringing friends here next time!!! P.S. The signal at the restaurant is low, which does encourage more interactions with the people you eat with. *Park at the free garage parking by AMC Atlantic Times Square 14.

I swung by on Friday night around 7:30pm, and the wait was only about 10 minutes, which isn't bad at all. We ordered chicken wings, baked fish with white sauce over rice, and baked pork chop rice, and pan fried black pepper beef with spaghetti. Everything was really tasty, and the portions were pretty generous. The food feels super authentic Hong Kong cafe style, and the decor is all Hong Kong theme items, making you feel like you're actually in Hong Kong. The wait staff was friendly and quick to respond. I really like that this shopping mall offers free underground parking, and it's usually easy to find a spot. Definitely recommend this place!

Strictly speaking the food it's probably 4 stars but then I really can't say anything bad about what I ate. It's not fancy so nothing knocked me off feet but that's what you'd expect from Hong Kong Cafe. The food is decent but the vibe is amazingly cool that is reminiscant of HK cafes that used to litter everywhere in the Monterey Park Alhambra park before the recent "mainland" restaurant invasion. :). I love the restaurant itself and the service is impeccable and efficient just as what you'd expect from HK. The place is very clean with a lot of cool neon lights and signs hanging everywhere. There is even a Bumblebee. The place opens late which is great and reminds me of my time when I were in college. The food is delicious even though it's not fancy food. I wish there is one near my place in NorCal.

Coming from HK, I’ve been on the hunt for a good cha chaan teng and this one hit the spot! I love their attention to detail to bring guests to HK through their interior design and the FOOD WAS AMAZING. We had the curry fish balls, cha siu fried rice, beef ho fun and the green beans (best green beans I’ve had in LA) I will be frequenting this place a lot! The servers were sweet and reserved which was great. It wouldn’t feel like HK if they checked on you every 5 minutes like an ordinary US restaurant. Their iced lemon tea tasted like the Nestle brand rather than homemade but overall it was great. 10/10 recommend!

Impressed with the authenticity of the Cantonese style food (cha chan tang), very legit. We ordered so many food and tried many dishes, I have to say they are all good. I grew up from Hong Kong, it’s definitely a 8/10 for me. I just wish they have the breakfast or all day menu as we have toddler, it would be nice to have some smaller menu to accommodate for little kids. The signage and decoration is pretty cool, can really feel like being in Hong Kong again.
